ALAMEDA COUNTY SHERIFF K-9 assists Oakland Police in locating a Home Invasion suspect

A man was arrested on suspicion of a violent takeover robbery at a house where 19 people were attending a birthday party, including a 2-year-old boy who was threatened with death to make adults comply.  A second suspect was able to evade capture and they are suspected of other Oakland home-invasion robberies.

The 19 people, ranging in age from 2 to 69, were attending a birthday party in a house in the 3300 block of Wisconsin Street when two suspects armed with guns, entered the home about 8:30 p.m. demanding valuables.  A 2-year-old boy had a gun put to his head and was threatened with death by one of the robbers if adults resisted and a man was pistol whipped, police said. At least eight people were robbed of cash, jewelry, and cell phones.

The robbers fled the house as police arrived.  One suspect was arrested a few blocks away, hiding in a garage where he was bitten by an Alameda County Sheriff Canine that joined the search.  A gun was recovered as were some of the valuables that were stolen.
