SUBJECT: NON PROFIT K-9 ASSOCIATION

 

Since the inception of the Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit, the citizens of our county have showed great interest in our program.  We are interested in starting an Alameda County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Association.

 

The purpose of the association would be to project a positive image for the Sheriff’s Office and inform the public of our unit.  The goal of the association would be to raise money for retired Sheriff’s Canines medical expenses and proper funeral services.  The funds could also provide safety equipment, such as ballistic vests.

 

Other K-9 associations in our area include Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department ( HYPERLINK "http://www.ssdk9.org" www.ssdk9.org ), and Modesto Police Department ( HYPERLINK "http://www.modestopdk9.com" www.modestopdk9.com).  All of these organizations are extremely professional and project a positive image on their departments.  These organizations have sparked community interest in each of these agencies and have overwhelming community support.

 

Our intention is to have you directly involved in the process and have your full support.  Please take the time to look at these web sites and see how professional they are.  With your approval, we will start a nonprofit organization, which would benefit or canine teams.

 

Eventually we would also like to create a Facebook page and website ( HYPERLINK "http://www.acsok9.org" www.acsok9.org )  to highlight our organization.
